We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. We see various shots of Robocop, a profile of a criminal on a screen and Robocop in a car witnessing a crime. Having rewatched the film the most times on TV and as part of the family-friendly VHS home game, I quite enjoyed the latter comparison.

In addition, Arrow was able to source a new 4K scan of the extra footage found in the Director’s Cut, so those moments look better than they previously did. Atmos track is the cleanest of the three and benefits from the discrete LFE channel, but has lower overall volume levels. Director Paul Verhoeven hadn't really made his mark in Hollywood, and took a bit of persuading to do the movie, with neither him nor his cast of misfits really certain as to what would become of it, turning in a modestly-budgeted and extremely taut 103 minute thriller which would end up being one of the greatest movies of all time.Like future Verhoeven mixtures of kitsch and art object, RoboCop is broken up into hard, tactile shards of action, from the stabbing of a thug’s throat to the splatter of another melting thug against a windshield.

We also have interview shows which feature people from an eclectic mix of the entertainment industries. Which is to say that RoboCop has been subtly buffed up without compromising its aura of underground sleaziness. Having already purchased the Blu-ray version of this I still went ahead and bought this new 4K UHD version as it is my favourite film. RoboCop, from Orion Pictures, marked director Paul Verhoeven’s (Flesh + Blood) Hollywood debut and instantly became an enduring sci-fi/action classic when it landed in theaters in the summer of 1987. This Ultra HD Blu-ray set affords a pair of remarkable native 4K presentations - culled from the 4K restoration MGM did from the original camera negative a few years back - for both the theatrical and director's cuts, on separate discs no less, further blessed with Dolby Vision.
