Bench drill with 2-speed gearbox, delivers high power in first gear and high speed in second gear, combining easy and comfortable drilling with precise results. It was a 30second job and now the drill bits don't slip and I can get a decent amount of grip on anything I put in the Chuck. To reduce the risk of serious injury and/or damage to your Festool product, always read, understand and follow all warnings and instructions in your Festool product's Instruction Manual. When I had a business I purchased a heavy-weight, geared (not belt) drive unit for that kind of work. This took another week to arrive and once again the bosch seal had been broken but the drill and packaging looked ok so i accepted it. The depth guage is great, the electronic speed control works well, the clamp is useful and the size, reach, depth and chuck size all adequate. I think you have had more use of your drill than I have of mine so its good to get that feedback too.

The Bosch PBD 40 is a powerful and precise bench mounting pillar drill with a digital display of drilling speed and drilling depth. Note: This newer version doesn't have the clear guard over the chuck as I've seen in some photos and videos online. This isn't the first Bosch i've given bad notes for, perhaps the fact that they are produced in china has alot to answer for the bad quality control; and it's poor. Its roller support makes it easy to slide materials towards and away from the tool when sawing lengthwise while its ball support makes it simple to turn workpieces to the ideal angle for cutting. it has a röhm chuck, which at close inspection appears to be much more precisely made than the jacobs 4000 chuck on my bosch psb 850-2 re and pretty much every chuck on a hand held drill i've seen in the consumer-oriented market.Maybe they need more power, holes of accurate and repeatable depth, or to make holes using larger Forstner bits than their power drill can handle. One thing I would point out is I have to tighten the pillar lock as hard as I can to prevent any wobble.
