It is the British version, so the first movie is The Philosopher's Stone instead of the Sorcerer's Stone. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. But perhaps the worst is the lack of time given to involve Cedric Diggory the poor student that holds the key to the climax, leaving his death lacking impact. It’s been a long, odd journey revisiting these movies with no distractions and dedicated to diggin into the audio-visual details to judge the improvement of the “Harry Potter” series to 4K.

I have many streaming services but by far and away Hard Cope Disc is still KING in sound and vision quality. Home Entertainment's Tenet topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts for the fifth time in six weeks of release. This whole set really does show the benefit of 4K - all the scenes that were too dark and muddled on dvd are brought to life and given new depth and clarity. I also sent my dumps in just in case they're not the same keys, though the situation appears to be the same. The benefits wear thin towards the end of the movie, and a few digital effects show signs of aging (the dragon’s interactions with its’ environment, the Black Lake, etc.Sure, it doesn't look like a brand new film, but given it was a modest budget film, it doesn't look too bad really. The main issue for me is the weird grain effect, you see it swirling around in parts, like on Hermione's face just before she leaves her home at the start of DH1. When Harry Potter learns on his eleventh birthday that he is, in fact, a wizard, he is quickly swept up into the spellbinding world of Hogwarts School of Whitchcraft and Wizardry alongside new best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone with a complimentary commemorative Limited Edition Remembrall™ enamel pin from the Harry Potter Fan Club Pin Seeking collection. I am cautiously building my 4K collection as I don;t want to invest in discs if I can't rip them since I hate having to dig out discs and load them in my player.

It contains a Hogwarts Trivia Challenge that lets you prove your Wizarding World mastery, plus spell incantations, director's commentary, and an in-depth look at the magical creatures and artifacts from the film.Philosopher's Stone is a very nice upgrade, the Blu looks so processed (especially edge-enhancement and that typical DVD-era harsh colour grading). A superb series to watch or re-watch on whatever format you can, though, if you can, I do recommend the 4k. Harry will have to have m\mastered and harnessed all the powers he has if he is to avenge the parents.

with her wand, both will become friends for life and always no-matter what by Harry's side when needed. At the Mall, Harry is surprised to learn that he is indeed well known and in fact famous, seems everyone knows more than he does. Every time I make an mkv out of disk 1 (Sorcerer's Stone, 4K disk) I get narration in the resulting file. son, treating Harry as, at best a second-class citizen, in fact, Harry's room was the cupboard under the stairs. This boxed series plus the DVD player came out to much less than the series purchased as individual discs. Half-Blood Prince may be my favourite disc visually, although the cinematography could be the main reason for that. Harry leans much about his parents and how they had died at the hands of the evil and powerful Wizard Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) who has until now been in obscurity but with the emergence of Harry at Hogwarts is striving to regain both his Presence and considerable powers in the hope of finishing what he'd started years before by killing Harry.

Probably my least favorite film out of the series in no small part due to the hours spent trying to put it on my server in a working file format. Only complaint is this movie (in two scenes) really highlights the weaknesses of older/less capable HDR displays that can't tone-map as well as newer TVs, but that's a TV issue not a disc problem.Harry during his first 11 years knew nothing of who he was or indeed who his parents were, however, that was about to change when despite his uncle trying to keep a schooling invite from Harry, a hoard of Owls delivering the same invite ensured that he eventually did, around that time Harry meets the uninvited Hogwarts game-keeper Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) who does tell Harry more perhaps than he was supposed to. Even without a spectacular sound system, small audio reformations stand-out to an ear so familiar with rewatching/hearing the same sounds. From here on out, these movies are worth upgrading (of course, second-hand or by borrowing if you can). I didn’t think these two would be next to one another, but the only real improvement more significant than those in ‘Part 2’ is the way HDR pulls color from the environment through the gray-ish color grading. This upgrade allows the tone of the movie to cling a bit more to the more colorful production elements of the first two, helping bridge the gap to the more jarring aesthetic changes.
