About this deal

I should have know better than to start this after noon, because now it’s 1:30am and I’m gonna have to go get an ice pack for my puffy eyes and a new box of Kleenex for those weird post-sob little hiccups of more sobbing. How romance isn’t just a big grand gesture but it’s more about the small part of life that are more rewarding. But when Emma's toxic mother shows up and Justin has to assume guardianship of his three siblings, they're suddenly navigating a lot more than they expected—including catching real feelings for each other. Her story was so heartbreaking but her growth was so amazing 🥹 this book had me crying, laughing, and crying some more. This, like all of Abby’s books, is hilarious and filled with comedic relief, but it’s also evocative and wrought with emotions and, in some ways, heavier than some of her previous stories.

A rich, rebellious boy spends the summer with his father who he has considered long dead and his mistress while waiting for the annulment of his father and his mother's marriage. This is a fairly typical romance, which combines a couple of tropes, which I'm not going to discuss because I'm not into spoilers. Justin and Emma were such relatable characters and it was exciting and easy to watch their relationship unfold. Overall, this book was relatable for me on many levels and one I would recommend for someone who loves a story of healing, true friendship, and the realities of love. When Kate Harris accepts a redecorating job of her brother Aidan’s house in the picturesque town of Willowbury, she knows it’s just a stop gap.Emma needed to work on herself and I was beyond proud of her for realizing that she’d only become the person she hated the most (Amber) to Justin’s siblings if she stayed. With Part of Your World being a 5 star read and Yours Truly being infinite stars, I knew this book wouldn’t disappoint. The way that this book and story felt so real, yet navigated difficult and heart wrenching topics was so beautifully done. Fans of Abby Jimenez will be thrilled with "Just for the Summer," a punchy and heart-warming romance that delivers enough of an emotional edge to feel real.

However, I still think it was necessary that she took time to herself, went to therapy, found her healthy boundaries and recovered from the absolute life-shattering information she found out. You never know what you're gonna get when you open an Abby Jimenez book, but you will always be smiling regardless. Justin is what warm hugs are made of, he loved so incredibly hard and loud, I could have melted each time I hit his POV, seeing Emma through his eyes had me 😭😭😭!

Seeing her have something good in her life was such a treat, but also getting to watch her make a choice to take care of herself first was so brave and moving. Her need to protect herself and how she went about doing it was something l think that anyone picking up this book will be able to connect and resonate with. Good cast, decent chemistry, looks good, it’s very much a simple and relaxed romance without being to cliche. Teacher Penelope Campbell loves visiting her Grandma Dot every summer - despite her constant attempts to find Penelope a man! If she hadn't extracted her head from delulu-land, I would've given this one star so brace yourself while reading this.

Emma hadn't planned that her next assignment as a traveling nurse would be in Minnesota, but she and her best friend agree that dating Justin is too good of an opportunity to pass up, especially when they get to rent an adorable cottage on a private island on Lake Minnetonka. I think this is her most tender piece of writing to date - the emotions will have you wound tight in a way that makes it impossible to put the book down. Thank you to NetGalley, Abby Jimenez and Forever Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. In true Abby fashion we have an unforgettable meet cute AND of course those moments of comedic relief.By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file. I fell in love with the story and these characters and now I’m off to re-read Part of Your World to fill the Abby sized void in my life. Fans of Abby will devour this one and readers who may be new to her writing will no doubt want to go back and connect all the dots from her previous work.

But seriously, Emma almost made me DNF because her toxic positivity was making my blood pressure skyrocket. This pulled at my heart strings in all the right ways with the most wholesome dynamic between Emma and Justin woven into themes of family wounds and healing past traumas. The bakery has since gone on to win numerous Food Network competitions and, like her books, has amassed an international following.

An English teacher bumps into her childhood sweetheart, who is still as handsome and charming as ever. English teacher Penelope Campbell loves her annual summer vacations visiting her Grandma Dot, despite Dot's constant attempts to set her up with every single man in town. Everything was so insta-lovy, mixed with miscommunication and a very insufferable FMC and it ruined the entire story for me.
