Line 6 M9 Stompbox Modeler Guitar Multi Effects Pedal
About this deal
While I'll stick with that same basic framework, that's already been done here on Harmony Central - if you'd like to check out Jon Chappell's review of the Line 6 M9 and its larger sibling the M13, you can find it right here. The Line 6 M9 gives you over 100 distinctive distortions, tangy choruses, syrupy sweet reverbs, and many other kinds of expressive effects.
In this way, consumers give each other guidance and give us the opportunity to continuously improve.Use one effect at a time, arrange effects in tried-and-true combinations, or create your own original blends. Each model was inspired by a legendary stompbox tone and carefully crafted to produce all the tonal colours and nuances made famous by the original. Just like a classic stompbox, the M9 lets you tweak your tones on the fly using the dedicated knobs. The M series boxes are just great for using by themselves or can easily be integrated with other gear.
If you ever work alone in a multi-room studio, or at home with the amp isolated in one room while your recording gear is in another and need to dial up the amp and mixing console settings, you can either grow a third arm and work on your ability to be in two places at once, or record a bit of the part you're about to track into the looper, hit playback, and have a virtual you playing the guitar, thus freeing up your hands to dial in the sound at the amp and with your mic preamps, outboards and DAW software. One SERIOUS design flaw: It's really easy to accidentally erase a whole scene when you're trying to switch from one scene to another. The onboard tuner is also nice to have, and saves you from needing to bring along a dedicated tuner. The former puts the M9's display back into basic mode (with effects parameters displayed as when not using the scene function) or the latter, which enables the display to only depict the scenes themselves.Credit is provided by a panel of lenders with whom we have a commercial relationship (so we cannot provide independent advice).
It is without a doubt a feature packed unit with very good sounding classic effects and some innovative ones also, however it is obviously guitar oriented since it misses some basic Bass effects. The core feature of the M9 – and any of the pedals in the M series really – is that it takes all the sounds from Line 6’s effect-specific pedals, and puts them in one box.

The first thing you’ll notice is that it appears to have been sent here from outer space, in the future. While the majority of users will operate this pedal in mono, players with more advanced rigs will love that the M9 offers stereo operation.
