Matador Soap Bar Case - Blue
About this deal
Whether I’m planning a long weekend away or an extended international vacation, I avoid checking a bag at all costs. So now I wondered, if the Matador bag doesn’t dry your soap out that much when it’s sealed inside the soap case.
Ideal for the minimalist traveller, the Matador FlatPak Soap bar case will hold your soap or shampoo bar without the risk of leaking.Saippuapala ei sotke treenikassissa muita kamppeita ja kuivuu kassissa ennen seuraavaa käyttökertaa kätevästi. It’s a lightweight waterproof rolltop case that claims to dry your soap out while it’s sealed inside the bag. If I’m doing 35 days will I need to pack a couple of bars or when you say long lasting how long can you make it stretch?
At the time of this review, we’ve been testing the FlatPak for about a month from Barcelona to Detroit, with some pretty heavy use. And to reiterate—it allows the fragrance to permeate and the soap to dry out while being totally watertight, meaning your pack and all your gear stays totally dry. This is an uncommon experience, but I’ve seen it mentioned in comments several times, so I think it’s worth addressing. On my previous caminos I have used baking soda as shampoo but I now use a bar so I am looking for a solution that is slime-less! The Matador case lets the interior slowly dry over the span of a few hours, which isn't the best for the condition of the bar itself. We have found the Lush bar to be super versatile—you can use it for your hair, your body, even laundry and dishes if you’re in a pinch. If you’re really trying to travel light, you can bring along a smaller soap and the case will pack flat around it, saving space and weight—an option you don’t have with traditional plastic soap cases. While the Matador Soap Case may not be the magical self-drying bag some people think it is, I think it’s still a very useful product.
TSA allows each passenger a one quart-size bag of liquids to go into your carry on—with each item limited to 3.
I’ve become something of an expert at packing a carry-on, but one thing that long eluded me was how to efficiently travel with my many bars of soap. My gym bag has not had water in it from the soap and the soap is perfectly dry the next time I use it. It is quite relaxing and the light grit is gentle (although having tried a few out I love the heavy grit, especially in the woodsman bar). After 5 total cycles of soaking and placing in the bags, both bars were very wet, soggy and squishy.
