Jeanie loves her Bad Nana because trouble always seems to happen when she's around, like all the rule signs at the park getting the no's crossed out or bringing a 16th century king to life.

But to justify how Jeanie didn’t like her younger brother just a little bit was not my favorite part because Jeanie experienced bullies from Georgina and the museum guy, she should know how it feels to be disliked. This loveable Nana has a strong sense of fairness and justice, so when a new park keeper decides to plonk unfriendly notices everywhere, full of rules designed to stop any sort of fun, Nana steps in. Whilst the first chapter delves into Jeanie’s family, friends and lots of fab details about her Bad Nana, chapter 2 ‘Park Life’ is where Sophy Henn shows us what Nana is really made of. I haven't charted out my visits for the summer term, but I'm sure there are several in the south) and thanks so much for being so fantastic! The first introduces Bad Nana, the second is an adventure in the park, and the third is a trip to the local history Museum.

She studied Fashion at Central Saint Martins, accidentally had a London based career as an Art Director in advertising, then completed an MA at University of Brighton in Illustration. There are a few incidents in the story, the main ones being an intro to nana, a park incident and a museum. Jeanie is seven-and three-quarters years old and lives with her mum and dad and annoying little brother; she also has three nanas, the best one being Bad Nana. Nine days before Christmas, Jake’s world is turned upside-down when he wakes up to discover that his mum has disappeared. Bad Nana has been banned from the line-dancing club for “being disruptive in the freestyle section”, has a cat with PINK hair and carries a walking stick that’s used for everything BUT walking.

Det är dock fint att läsa om vänskaper över generationsgränserna och för målgruppen (6-9 år) tror jag att detta är en mycket rolig och spännande bok. was shortlisted for the AOI Illustration Awards 2014 and the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2015.

Most importantly, we are introduced to Bad Nana (not her actual name, but no one can remember that) who likes a little bit of twinkle, copious amounts of lemon sherbets, and has a pink cat.Whether it’s the bossy new park warden or an aggressively boring tour guide, Bad Nana demonstrates to Jeanie and young readers that a little bit of naughty is no harm at all; that bullies can and should be stopped; and, without overtly saying it, that the elderly have much wisdom and fun to offer us all.
